Me, myself and I

My name is Lucas, I live on the second floor, I live upstairs from you. Yes I think you’ve seen me before.

I’ve been a salesman, a teacher, and now a software engineer.

I like to do things without any particular reason, exploring new experiences is fun, I enjoy it. This is how I started with computers, skateboarding, or weightlifting, just because. I also love living abroad, having called Spain, Mexico, France, and Sri Lanka home, and I’ve traveled to the USA, Netherlands, and Costa Rica.

In my tech life, I began building simple desktop apps for myself in Python, then moved to the web, trying to launch a startup that didn’t work out. Those experiences taught me a ton and kickstarted my professional life as a developer. I kept exploring down the stack with ESP32, Raspberry Pi Pico, and other Raspberry Pi models, testing languages like Rust, Python, Java, Go, and even Nix. I use Linux (NixOS, by the way) on my quest for a reliable, smooth, and customizable OS.

Currently, I’m diving into distributed systems, storage, and machine learning. However, I often get nerdsnipped by side quests, like creating my own programming language.

I’m passionate about learning methodologies to build better software faster. I’ve worked at several companies, seeing diverse ways of working. Working with motivated teams in environments that value quality while delivering quickly is something I strive to bring wherever I go.

Feel free to reach out, I’m always happy to connect.
